At the start of the new century, the population of Geelong and nearby surrounding areas was half of what it is today. Since then, we have seen an absolute explosion of growth throughout the region, especially in the last decade. There are no signs of this growth slowing down and this trend opens up massive opportunities for everyone. However, it is important as local residents to take notice of areas of concern. Some people feel that having a larger population is a bad thing. While there could be an argument that in some areas it could be a bad thing for wildlife and nature, either way, your voice is important. We feel it doesn’t necessarily have to be seen as a negative thing, if we work together and plan ahead. It is because we are driving our tow trucks around town daily that we can see these changes occurring as well as anyone. There is no doubt this is a new age and changes to the world are happening thick and fast. But we believe that together, we can smooth out these changes and keep the reputation that we feel our town has. Being the best area in the entire world. More People - More Traffic Jams?More people means more traffic and cars on the road, but this doesn’t have to mean more traffic jams. Not at all, we all have a part to play and making our voices heard is the best way. Our local council has professionals and experts behind the scenes planning and designing new roads and areas. They are generally pretty good at determining what type of intersection to place in certain locations. However, nobody is perfect and sometimes they get it wrong. For instance, a spot that may be fine during normal hours may be impossible to navigate during peak hour. This can be because the planners failed to see a potential bottleneck due to future growth. So where an intersection that should have a roundabout or traffic lights can sometimes have neither. We are towing Geelong vehicles every single day, and as your local tow truck service, we see and feel these specific locations. We make sure our voice is heard to the local council, but sometimes action isn’t taken soon enough. Before these certain locations become a problem, it is important that they are remedied before the suburb fills out. This way there is minimal impact to the locals when the time comes to inevitably install new traffic lights or roundabouts. All of our team are born and bred locals, it’s safe to say that we truly love Geelong. With our line of work, we have a pulse on the way things flow. It is because we are towing Geelong residents that we get to converse and hear everyone's story. What they do for a living, where they came from and how they contribute to the community.
The recurring theme we consistently hear is how everyone loves the area and how hard they had to work to earn the right to call themselves local residents. We hear stories of different people from different cultures and how much respect they have for our way of life. This makes us proud and we are happy to share the happiness our beautiful city brings to new families. Not enough people hear these stories and it’s something that we are lucky enough to take away from our job. Driving tow trucks and helping new people each day. The modern world has made everyone’s life busy and it’s harder to take pause to get to know our neighbors. At the end of the day, we are all family here and being a true local is what keeps us together. Thanks for reading and we hope you were able to gain some insight into how we can work together to make our community a better place for everyone. Comments are closed.
